What Mastermind receives
Mastermind receives your selected mentors, challenge, submitted message and the AI council’s reply with source references to provide the conversation, even when saving is off. If you use the microphone, a recording is held temporarily for transcription and sent to OpenAI; Mastermind does not retain the audio. This application does not add advertising trackers or session replay.
Your Mastermind account stores your email address, a salted password hash, a hashed recovery code and hashed session tokens. Plaintext passwords, recovery codes and session tokens are not stored in the database. Essential secure cookies keep you signed in. Your email is an account identifier; it is not verified for email delivery. Keep the recovery code shown at signup: automated recovery email is not available.
We keep account preferences, agreement versions, consent events and security safeguards until account deletion or their stated expiry. Your account email is not included in improvement exports. The optional ChatGPT integration uses a separate trusted Sites user identifier and does not automatically merge accounts by email.
Optional: save conversation text
Only after you create an account and explicitly enable saving do we retain your challenge, messages submitted to the reply tool, council contributions, mentor selections and linked sources. This history may contain sensitive details about health, relationships, finances, beliefs or other people. Share only what you are comfortable providing and avoid identifying others unnecessarily.
Saved challenge and conversation text is encrypted before database storage and tied to your authenticated account. Encryption does not make data anonymous or prevent authorized processing. Account controls restrict history access to its owner.
Your 30-day retention period
A saved conversation expires 30 days after its first saved turn. Later turns share that original expiry; continuing the conversation does not extend it. Expired records are immediately excluded from history and improvement exports. An authorized cleanup job removes expired conversation records; physical cleanup may occur after the expiry time when the job next succeeds. You can delete earlier at any time in Your account.
Turning saving off stops new captures. It does not erase existing history; delete it yourself or allow it to expire. Account and consent metadata has a separate lifetime and stays until account deletion. This application cannot erase copies in your own downloads or the independent retention of its hosting and identity providers.
Optional: internal product improvement
A separate unchecked choice permits authorized Mastermind operators to review and export opted-in saved text to evaluate reply quality, identify problems and improve the service. Saving history alone does not grant this permission. Improvement requires saving to be enabled and consent both when the turn is captured and when it is exported. Enabling it later does not make earlier turns eligible.
Exports omit account identifiers and exact timestamps and remove common email, phone, link and address patterns. They are pseudonymized, not guaranteed anonymous: names, indirect identifiers or sensitive context may remain. Operators must review examples before internal analysis. We do not sell this text, publish it, use it for advertising or send it to an external model-training pipeline through this application.
You may withdraw improvement permission at any time. Withdrawal excludes your saved text from future exports. It cannot recall copies already downloaded by an authorized operator. Those copies must be handled only for the stated internal purpose and deleted when no longer needed; this site does not provide automatic deletion of downloaded files.
AI processing, hosting and natural voices
Conversations on this website run through the operator’s OpenAI API account. You do not need a ChatGPT account or subscription. Your challenge, recent conversation context and prepared mentor material are sent to OpenAI to generate replies. Microphone recordings are sent for transcription. Requests disable optional Responses API storage; OpenAI’s applicable API processing and retention policies still apply. Turning Mastermind history off prevents our saved-history capture, but does not prevent processing needed to answer you.
OpenAI Sites and its infrastructure host the service and process necessary operational requests. The website sends validated council reply text to OpenAI to generate natural synthetic speech. Playback audio is held temporarily in your browser for replay and released when the room closes. Public voice previews use fixed demonstration text and may be cached as public generated audio. They never contain your microphone recording or private conversation. We do not clone the named people’s voices or retain your microphone recordings. The optional ChatGPT widget may use browser or operating-system speech services instead. If you separately use the optional ChatGPT plugin, those chats follow your separate ChatGPT settings and are not erased by deleting Mastermind history.
Access, export, withdrawal and deletion
Visit Your account to change optional choices, read or download unexpired history, delete one conversation, delete all history, or delete your Mastermind account. Deletion removes this application’s corresponding records and excludes deleted text from future improvement exports. It cannot recall previous downloads or remove separate ChatGPT chats. If you cannot access your account, use the contact below; we may need to verify ownership.
This service is intended for adults 18 and older. Please do not submit children’s personal information. We will present a new specific choice before using saved text for a materially different purpose.
